Sample Post: This is my fandom blog. My favorite post is this one.
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer (fic, recs, and meta). I've been poking at vidding, but it's hard and I'm a perfectionist, so who knows.
Country: USA
Occupation: Student (Undergraduate in Biology and Health & Societies
What else are you into? (fannish): I'm currently into Sherlock and Inception, perpetually into Young Wizards and Doctor Who, and flirt with other fandoms big and small at an alarming rate. See my Delicious for details.
What else are you into? (in the real world): Politics, science, bioethics, knitting.
One awesome thing you did this year: I taught English in China this summer, which was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Ask me about Chinese fangirls!
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I flirt with Watsonian perspectives, but Doylesian ways allow for much more snark.
Favorite Character: John H. Watson.
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Sally Donovan. Fandom needs to give her more love, or at least screentime.
Favorite Pairing: John/ asexual or reluctantly sexual Sherlock (I enjoy their Boston Marriage).
Favorite Scene: The Reichenbach Pool from The Great Game. It wasn't until that scene was over that I realized I'd watched a villain monologue for ten minutes straight and liked it. It just gets the tension up and then keeps it there the whole. time.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Service revolver.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: I'd love to see "The Blue Carbuncle" done well, mainly because I am a sucker for a Christmas story. I live in fear of an adaptation of "The Creeping Man," because I know they'd try to bring genetics in somehow and that inevitably ends in me yelling a lot at the screen.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: the Basil Rathbone movies, the Granada series, the 2009 movie, the BBC radio dramatizations with Clive Merrison and Michael Williams, "A Study in Emerald"... I like Sherlock Holmes okay?
Favorite Original Story: "The Three Garridebs." As the possessor of a weird-ass last name, I empathize.
Best Granada Watson: Edward Hardwicke.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: Okay, so, did anyone else read those books by Larry Millett where Holmes and Watson are in Minnesota tooling around with a guy named Shadwell Rafferty? Because I did, and I've always wondered if I was alone.
My thoughts on yaoi: Good!
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: I'm the mod, I don't count.

Sample Post: Well, I post things like fanfic; and also random entries about my life, like this. More personal things are access-locked.
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer, definitely. I dabble in recording podfiction, too. And bake really nice cupcakes, but that's not really relevant, um.
Country: Australia.
Occupation: I'm a graduate student, and a baby librarian. That is, I'm new to the career; I don't catalogue babies. Though I totally could. :P
What else are you into? (fannish): Mostly it's Sherlock for me, at the moment. I'm always into Doctor Who, though, and then there's Merlin, Battlestar Galactica, Dollhouse... I fangirl, therefore I am, or something; just ask my delicious account.
What else are you into? (in the real world): Talking too much, hanging out with my dog, walking, travelling, reading, writing poetry and not!fanfic, and cooking (vegetarians represent! or... whatever).
One awesome thing you did this year: Oh God, this year has been little but grad school, therefore not terribly exciting. I have just applied for a spiffy-looking job, in the South Pacific, though; that feels pretty awesome right now. :D
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I am going by the skin of my teeth as to what these terms mean, but I'm guessing more Watsonian.
Favourite Character: John Watson.
Favourite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Sarah. Or Lestrade. I can't choose. Go away. (Sarah really does need more love, though!)
Favourite Pairing: John/Sherlock, being gloriously domestic and crazy.
Favourite Scene: In the cab, in the first episode, when Sherlock has the big monologue about Harry; I adore that John just sits there and listens (surely most people would want to automatically correct the know-it-all, with a basic gender fact wrong!), and I adore the reactions after that. And then, of course, the entire pool scene, in episode three, slays me on many levels, too.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Service revolver, please.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Awesomesauce. The clothes alone make me fangasm. And don't even get me started on the love that is this contemporary Watson.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: The 2009 movie, mainly.
Favourite Original Story: "The Adventure of the Speckled Band."
Favourite Screen Holmes: Big screen? That would be Downey Jr.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: *the sound of crickets chirping* :D
My thoughts on yaoi: Tastes excellent with cocoa pops.
My Other Fandoms: Primarily Doctor Who and Merlin, at the moment.
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: I'm a modly mod, so don't really count.
Fic exchanges are always epic, though.no subject
Date: 2010-09-22 01:43 pm (UTC)The clothes alone make me fangasm.
Seriously, so true, and who knew? I mean, I went in knowing I'd likely love a remake of Sherlock Holmes no matter what, and the modern day AU thing is just such a beautiful, perfect idea. But then you dress it all up in those beautiful clothes? That coat? Sherlock's suits and plum shirt? The pretty is overwhelming.
And yes, I feel like in some ways Watson is the biggest departure, and it works so well--he feels like such a full character in his own right, and our anchor in the series. Brilliant casting, brilliant performance.

Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer, sometimes. Crocheter of a kid-size Doctor Who scarf at the moment.
Country: US
What else are you into? (fannish): Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Terry Pratchett, Young Wizards, White Collar, Babylon 5, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. Those are the major ones, I think.
What else are you into? (in the real world): Reading; photography; trying to find a job. Actually I am not into that at all, but I do like to eat and sleep under a dry roof, so.
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I have seen these discussed, but can't remember which one's which, so I'll go with Option C.
Favorite Character: John.
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: LESTRADE. I don't even KNOW. He just jumped right off the screen at me and TOOK OVER MY HEAD. (You may notice that I tend to RANDOMLY CAPSLOCK and SQUEE a lot. This is normal, please do not adjust your monitor.)
Favorite Pairing: I'll read pretty much anything in this fandom that doesn't feature Moriarty, Molly, or Anderson. And I'm open to persuasion on those. I don't like limiting my options.
Favorite Scene: Too many to choose from! The fake drugs bust, the "You're disappointed in me" scene, the entire pool scene.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Service revolver.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Oh, VERY well-done. Well, the second one was rather half-baked, and...but if I start nit-picking, we'll be here all night.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: Am currently re-reading the originals! Haven't got far enough yet to remember specific names, though.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: I have not actually seen any other adaptations. I know, I know, bad fangirl. I have read all the original stories, does that count? Twenty years ago....
Favorite Original Story: "The Three Garridebs". Because Holmes is going to do some DAMAGE if Watson is seriously hurt.
Favorite Screen Holmes: Never seen any, so at this point BC would win by default.
Best Granada Watson: I keep seeing this "Granada" thing mentioned. Could someone explain to me what that is?
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: Nope!
My thoughts on yaoi: As long as they don't do it in the street and frighten the horses.
My Other Fandoms: Didn't we cover this further up?
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) Yes! All of those things.
(hi again, new friend, hi!)
Date: 2010-09-14 04:25 am (UTC)I'd never heard of it before diving into Sherlock-related-things online, either, but I believe it's this.
Am obviously happy to be corrected by one my betters, though. :P

Sample Post: Usually involves either fangushing over something or other, or Real Life Important things that happen in Meatspace. Except nothing important ever happens to me, don't worry. Fic when I write it, that is, sporadically and usually only when I have a challenge deadline hanging over my head for motivation. Like now. *Glances up nervously*
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer? But if I knew how to knit, I would totally knit orange blankets full-time.
Country: Canada.
Occupation: Student. That is, music student, for now. If you really want to hear about my RL, I will show you all about my angst over whether I should be doing a Classics degree or not, so check back this time next year and I may or may not be a Classics student who just happens to own a bassoon.
What else are you into? (fannish): Mainly Doctor Who, which will surprise nobody as for some reason many Sherlock Holmes fans seem to be Doctor Who fans as well. I think they just go together nicely.
What else are you into? (in the real world): Music-- as mentioned, I play bassoon, perhaps as a profession, perhaps not. Although I have never played a filk-appropriate instrument, or heard any in meatspace-- which is sort of the whole point of the genre, really-- I want to like burning. Classics-- as in, Greek, Latin and any related items-- is my love that keeps mugging my Music degree on its way home, and I would almost like to say that Cambridge Latin Course is my fandom because why yes, I have written fanfiction for a language textbook. No matter how hard I try, gymnastics is the only sport I give a damn about. I also like stuffed rabbits and smoothies and things that are fuzzy.
One awesome thing you did this year: Took an impromptu trip to Vancouver, which is now my favorite city in the world.
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: If this means what I think it does, Doylesian.
Favorite Character: Er, Sherlock Holmes?
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Mycroft. I think he's hilarious and I loved the whole arch-nemesis thing.
Favorite Pairing: *cocks eyebrow*
Favorite Scene: Is it cheating if I pick my favorite scene from the unaired pilot? Well, I will. That scene. When he's on the roof. Just. I have a thing for people standing heroically on rooftops, okay? I engage in a geed deal of illicit roof-climbing myself. And John's face. His face.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: RIDING CROP GUUUUUUUUUH
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Well-done, except for the second episode. But everyone ignores that one anyway, so whatever.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: I'm going to say The Empty House, although I'm not sure if the storylines are quite compatible. But I want to see sneaky Sherlock and fainting John!
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: I haven't seen one that I haven't enjoyed. Although to be fair, I haven't seen the one with the dinosaurs. Also, I am totally counting House as an adaption.
Favorite Original Story: The Final Problem. Not gonna lie, I cried so much. Even though, y'know, obviously he wasn't dead because there were still several hundred more pages left in the book.
Favorite Screen Holmes: Oh, Jeremy Brett. I don't even. I love Cumberbatch, but I don't see him when I think Sherlock Holmes.
Best Granada Watson: ...I am incapable of paying any attention whatsoever to Watson in the Granada series. I know this is a bad thing and I feel bad about it. So I think I'll just say, my definitive Watson is in fact Jude Law, which surprised me quite a bit.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: Er... not really... everyone's seen this clip from The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, right?
My thoughts on yaoi: Thank goodness, I was almost starting to think you didn't care about my Thoughts On Yaoi!
My Other Fandoms: Mainly Doctor Who and Sherlock, with a vague smattering of Torchwood and oh, Classics slash, I will take it wherever I find it!
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) (Your mods are totally unsubtle in this regard) All of the above? :D

What else are you into? (in the real world): European motorcycles, historical fencing
Favorite Character:Lestrade. Originally got into him via aragonite on fanfiction.net who totally hooked me on him, then the BBC series came along...
I suspect that I'll wander off into the depths of fanfic and not care too much about the originals at all. Mainly because my favourite character is going to be portrayed as dim and hopeless because the main character has to stand out so can't have bright competent people around him.
That said, I love the 1st and 2nd episodes and there is so much potential of all kinds there.

Sample Post: Mostly fan fiction, vids and recs.
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer and sometimes a vidder, though I feel more comfortable with my writing efforts. Currently on small hiatus though.
Country: Czech republic
Occupation: Working at a shop, looking for a new job
What else are you into? (fannish): Sherlock is currently on the top, but I'm also watching SPN, NCIS, The Glades, Castle, Listener, any movie adaptation of Terry Pratchett, Doctor Who and several others I can't think of right now lol
What else are you into? (in the real world): The Internets, LJ/DW, trying to play the keyboard, writing and reading, going out with friends. I also like swimming:-)
One awesome thing you did this year: Eh, this year so far was nothing but work. I can't think of anything "awesome" happening around me, but the year's not over so there's still hope:-)
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I... don't know what you mean by that. Kinda new to the fandom.
Favorite Character: John Watson. And Sherlock Holmes of course.
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: I find Lestrade more sympathetic, but Mycroft is just too much fun, so dunno.
Favorite Pairing: Gen. Sherlock/Watson if it's done properly
Favorite Scene: Just one? The scene where they first met and Sherlock winked at Watson. Watson above the body saying Fantastic and Sherlock saying "You realise you're talking aloud?" The whole scene between Watson and Mycroft, then the scene with Sherlock realising it was Sherlock who saved him. Argh... too much to list.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Service revolver
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Well done, perfectly done... I want moooore!!!
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: All? Though I don't really care for Baskerville, although I would be curious of how they adapt that.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Jeremy Brett
Favorite Original Story: Don't know.
Favorite Screen Holmes: I guess Jeremy Brett is written in too deeply in my memories, but I looove Benedict's Holmes too. Also liked RDJ, but I think it was more liking the actor than his role *chuckle*
Best Granada Watson: Huh? Not sure what that means. But my favorite Watson is Martin Freeman, closely followed by the one playing along Jeremy Brett. (shame on me I don't know his name)
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: I'm afraid no gushing will occure.
My thoughts on yaoi: Hm? None really. Don't follow.
My Other Fandoms: Already replied above with fannish things:-)
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) Yeah, everything mentioned here, though I think most prominent are news about Sherlock, the actors, fic posts, prompt, fic recs, videos and photos. Audiofics and other stuff is also very welcome:-) I must add though that I think all those things are already present and take this as a chance to thank the mods for great job:-)

Date: 2010-09-22 01:49 pm (UTC)The scene where they first met and Sherlock winked at Watson. Watson above the body saying Fantastic and Sherlock saying "You realise you're talking aloud?"
That moment was just completely meltingly adorable. The chemistry between the two actors and the way their performances play off each other--it's just magical. Casting is always so key, and I love it when a show gets it so, so right!
Also, glad to find another Sherlock fan who is also an SPN fan (premiere Friday! eek!). If it's OK, I'll add you to my reading list?

Sample Post: I tend to ramble about my life and science issues like this and nitpick science in TV programmes like this (sorry). Fannish stuff will return when I finish my PhD thesis.
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer, potential podficcer when I get some time (I live in a world full of recording equipment and a pet sound engineer, it seems a waste not to).
Country: UK
Occupation: PhD student (until September 30th)
What else are you into? (fannish): Doctor Who, CSI, Merlin and many other things
What else are you into? (in the real world): Biochemistry, microscopy, computers, programming, cryptography, music and other geeky pastimes.
One awesome thing you did this year: Wrote a PhD thesis (well, nearly).
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: Doylesian, unless I've misunderstood the question.
Favorite Character: Sherlock
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Mycroft, even from the books I always found him fascinating.
Favorite Pairing: Sherlock/John
Favorite Scene: John returning to the flat after the explosion (The great game) I love the Sherlock/Mycroft interaction.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Revolver, distance is a good thing.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Despite all my expectations when I first heard about it, very well done.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: The Speckled band or the Creeping man, partly because I'd just like to see how they deal with the more bonkers aspects of both plots.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Jeremy Brett (to my mind, the definitive TV Holmes). Although it doesn't quite count, I also really liked the recent Mitchell and Webb sketch of old Holmes, although I'm not sure sketch shows are supposed to make you cry.
Favorite Original Story: Oddly probably 'the adventure of the lion's mane' I think mainly because I like reading Holmes' narration.
Favorite Screen Holmes: Jeremy Brett (unsurprisingly) although BC runs him a close second.
Best Granada Watson: Edward Hardwicke
My thoughts on yaoi: Are deep and meaningful.
My Other Fandoms: Obscure CSI pairings, Doctor Who, Stargate SG-1, Occasional Press gang
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) All of the above. I enjoy prompts and challenges particularly, when I have a bit more free time than I do at the moment.

Sample Post: Mostly fanfic with occassional thoughts on writing or whatever I'm reading at the moment. I sometimes witter about RL in locked posts.
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer. Despite my grandma's best efforts, I've never got the hang of knitting.
What else are you into? (fannish): Merlin, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Narnia, Being Human, Hornblower. Other things I've forgotten. The only fandom I'm really involved with at the moment is Narnia.
What else are you into? (in the real world): Writing a novel (sloooowly) and planning my wedding next year. These things leave little time for anything else.
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Favorite Character: Sherlock. No, John. Wait, Sherlock. I don't know.
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Lestrade. I love that he clearly thinks Sherlock is a lunatic but trusts him anyway.
Favorite Pairing: I love the complexity and ambiguity of John & Sherlock's relationship, so I'm not sure pairing is the word I'd apply to them. But anyway, them.
Favorite Scene: It's been a long day and I'm tired and I can't think of specifics. Any scene where Sherlock is all 'I'm too clever and sociopathic to care about people OH MY GOD JOHN DON'T DIE DON'T DIE' makes me happy.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Where's the 'I don't know what you're talking about' option?
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Well-done.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: I've only just started to delve into the books so it's too soon to say.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: The Guy Ritchie film.
Favorite Original Story: I'll let you know when I find it.
Favorite Screen Holmes: Robert Downey Jr just sneaks it, mostly by being Robert Downey Jr.
Best Granada Watson: We're back in don't know what you're talking about territory.
My thoughts on yaoi: I swear I had a witty response. It's gone now.
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) All of the above. Weekly prompts are good - I like deadlines. Not sure if I feel brave enough to write in this fandom yet though.

Date: 2010-09-14 08:31 pm (UTC)Blog/Journal/Site:http://lola.dreamwidth.org/ I’m also lolachrome over at LJ, though I’m really trying to make DW feel more like home.
Sample Post: http://lola.dreamwidth.org/35053.html [This is me and my most recent vid, an exploration of Sherlock and Soo Lin & an examination of orientalism in The Blind Banker]
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: These days, pretty much vidder, with the occasional meta and consistent fannish love
Country: USA
Occupation: academic
What else are you into? (fannish):These days--Supernatural, Mad Men, Damages, Gossip Girl, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart. And I normally wouldn’t mention this, but somehow I feel it’s very relevant: Amelia Peabody. I think much of my original Sherlock Holmes love was channeled into my love of Elizabeth Peter’s Amelia Peabody. And I can’t help but feel that Benedict Cumberbatch would be the ideal Ramses. Or Emerson. Or both.
What else are you into? (in the real world):I’m a mother of a 3 yo, I’m a bit of a foodie, I love going to the farmer’s market and then cooking something fresh and delicious. Afterward. And thinking about fannish things all the while…
One awesome thing you did this year:Moved across the country to a wonderful new home, town, & job!!
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about:I’m at a bit of a loss here as to this distinction, but I’d venture to say I’m a Doylesian.
Favorite Character: Sherlock. I know, not terribly original, but he’s Sherlock!
Favorite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John:Hmm, I’ll go with Lestrade. I love how the series has reimagined him as a character.
Favorite Pairing: I suppose I’m in the Sherlock/John camp, but I’m quite open minded along these lines. I have to admit to being quite fascinated with Sherlock and Lestrade as well.
Favorite Scene:Oh, this is a tough one. I think that moment in the cab, in A Study in Pink, when Sherlock admits to John that most people tell him to piss off after he performs his deduction. They’re both so human in that moment—I feel like it’s the true start of their friendship, where they begin to let their facades down.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Oh seriously, I have to choose? (And I know I have no right to complain here, as I’m a co-co-mod…) But no, I can’t choose and I won’t choose. They need each other. RidingCrop/ServiceRevolver OTP!
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?:I’m completely in love with this modern adaptation. I sat down to the series knowing nothing about it other than that I’ve always loved Sherlock Holmes. I was so thrown and thrilled by the fact that it was a Modern AU. The moment of realizing what they’d done with it was like slow motion fireworks going off in my head. This adaptation—with its Sherlock with a website and John with a blog and texting and knowledge in the cloud was absolutely made for me.
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted:I’m going to have to say The Red Headed League, though I have no idea what that would look like modernized. But it’s fascinating to think of the possibilities!! Also The Copper Beeches—I think it would be quite fascinating to think of what social isolation looks like in a modern landscape, and the gender issues could really go in interesting directions.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Well, Jeremy Brett was a fixture in my young adulthood—he was Holmes to me, and perhaps still is, but Cumberbatch is definitely Sherlock, and Sherlock takes precedence.
But I’m going to possibly lose all gravitas and say Young Sherlock Holmes. Young Sherlock was so very pretty, and oh John and the Donuts! But that said, one of the things I love most about Sherlock (the BBC version) is that Watson is not simply just used/poked fun at as a sidekick, but that rather the series takes on and even challenges the whole idea of a sidekick. I find that very compelling.

Date: 2010-09-19 05:19 am (UTC)I very much enjoyed your recent vid, which took the marginalised & othered women from 'The Blind Banker' (an episode I liked EXCEEDINGLY... apart from all the in-your-face orientalism, which was just O_O ) and, hey, SPN and Amelia Peabody - it's all good. Adding you to my circle - hope you don't mind!

Date: 2010-09-19 10:53 pm (UTC)I've always waffled on who should play Ramses, but I think Benedict would do it with such flare. Oh, I wish it could be!
I'm so glad you enjoyed Complicit! I have such mixed feelings about the episode--I don't want to forget it the way many seem to, and I found it very compelling and yet obviously troubling as well. I'd love to hear what you found compelling in it, actually!
Adding you to my circle as well! I'm thrilled with how this friending meme is making DW feel much more like home.

Favorite Pairing: Always and forever, Sherlock/John
Favorite Scene: The pool, aka. the ripping off of clothes.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Service Revolver. Yes, plz.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: well-done!!!
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: The Devil's Foot - just to see them in the country.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Russian - The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson!
Favorite Original Story: FINA, HOUN
Favorite Screen Holmes: I like different things about all the Holmes, so I'll list them in the order of importance: Jeremy Brett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Vasily Livanov, RDJ
Best Granada Watson: David Burke - best Granada Watson evah. Period.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: I'm not sure how obscure the Russian series is, but I'll gush nonetheless. Go watch it. THIS GUY has all the episodes on youtube.
My thoughts on yaoi: ...and I quote, "It's ALL fine." Smart man, that John Watson.

Sample Post: My Sherlock Rec Post of Dooooom - Officially too big for LJ!
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer and Knitter :D
Country: Australia
Occupation: Pensioner; days filled with knitting and fic
What else are you into? (fannish): Torchwood, dabbling in White Collar and Merlin, past history with Harry Potter, Australian comedy and Press Gang
What else are you into? (in the real world): Reading, knitting, crochet, spinning, cross stitch. Lots of fibre art, really. :)
One awesome thing you did this year: Bought a spinning wheel.
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I am my own special creation. But I like canon, fanfic, Ritchie Holmes, Granada Holmes, Murder Rooms, and have just bought the Rathbone films on DVD to watch, too.
Favourite Character: I like both main characters for different reasons.
Favourite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Lestrade
Favourite Pairing: John/Sherlock
Favourite Scene: I have many.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Both have their uses.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Well done, with room for improvement and expansion
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: The Musgrave Ritual. Any excuse for a treasure hunt.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Ritchie film, Granada, Murder Rooms
Favourite Original Story: I have several. Probably The Yellow Face is a particular favourite.
Favourite Screen Holmes: I like each of the portrayals I've seen for different reasons.
Best Granada Watson: I probably lean towards Hardwicke.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: Murder Rooms! So much love for Murder Rooms. First saw the telemovie episode on ABC ten years ago, and spent the decade wanting to rewatch. FINALLY found a torrent and got the lot. For those who don't know it, Murder Rooms was a short-lived series based around fictionalised cases of Dr Joseph Bell and ACD. Very well written and acted. Worth tracking down.
My thoughts on yaoi: Are many and sordid.
My Other Fandoms: Torchwood, with a bit of reading elsewhere.
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) (Your mods are totally unsubtle in this regard) Don't really mind, since I'm reading and reccing so far, not writing.
