Sample Post: My Sherlock Rec Post of Dooooom - Officially too big for LJ!
Writer/Artist/Vidder/Iconographer/Knitter of Orange Blankets: Writer and Knitter :D
Country: Australia
Occupation: Pensioner; days filled with knitting and fic
What else are you into? (fannish): Torchwood, dabbling in White Collar and Merlin, past history with Harry Potter, Australian comedy and Press Gang
What else are you into? (in the real world): Reading, knitting, crochet, spinning, cross stitch. Lots of fibre art, really. :)
One awesome thing you did this year: Bought a spinning wheel.
I am a Watsonian/ I am a Doylesian/ I have no idea what you're talking about: I am my own special creation. But I like canon, fanfic, Ritchie Holmes, Granada Holmes, Murder Rooms, and have just bought the Rathbone films on DVD to watch, too.
Favourite Character: I like both main characters for different reasons.
Favourite Character Who is Neither Sherlock nor John: Lestrade
Favourite Pairing: John/Sherlock
Favourite Scene: I have many.
Riding Crop or Service Revolver: Both have their uses.
The Beeb's Modern AU - well-done or half-baked?: Well done, with room for improvement and expansion
Original Story I'd most like to see adapted: The Musgrave Ritual. Any excuse for a treasure hunt.
Other Adaptations I Enjoy: Ritchie film, Granada, Murder Rooms
Favourite Original Story: I have several. Probably The Yellow Face is a particular favourite.
Favourite Screen Holmes: I like each of the portrayals I've seen for different reasons.
Best Granada Watson: I probably lean towards Hardwicke.
I am a fan of another adaptation which is incredibly obscure and which I will now gush about: Murder Rooms! So much love for Murder Rooms. First saw the telemovie episode on ABC ten years ago, and spent the decade wanting to rewatch. FINALLY found a torrent and got the lot. For those who don't know it, Murder Rooms was a short-lived series based around fictionalised cases of Dr Joseph Bell and ACD. Very well written and acted. Worth tracking down.
My thoughts on yaoi: Are many and sordid.
My Other Fandoms: Torchwood, with a bit of reading elsewhere.
What I'd like to see happen in this comm: (Book clubs, movie nights, meetups, fic exchanges, weekly prompts, etc. etc. etc.) (Your mods are totally unsubtle in this regard) Don't really mind, since I'm reading and reccing so far, not writing.
