Dear God, yes - if you're not familiar with Jeremy Brett's iconic Holmes, definitely worth seeing; before the Granada version it was mostly cheesy deerstalkers'n'pipes nonsense for screen adaptations, with Stupid!ComicRelief!Watson. The Granada show set the tone for modern takes on the characters.
