Experiments in Crushing Bones
Sep. 24th, 2010 04:04 pmI realise this is only tangentially related, so if it gets deleted, I'll understand entirely, but my mind went immediately to BBC Sherlock when I read about this custom-built bone-crushing machine used to gather data about how bones split, sheer, crack and break under different impacts. It is used to develop body armour, but I can see an immediate forensics use as well. Like the Texas University Body Farm[1] it's one of those things it's nice to imagine Sherlock gleeing over.
