Experiments in Crushing Bones

I realise this is only tangentially related, so if it gets deleted, I'll understand entirely, but my mind went immediately to BBC Sherlock when I read about this custom-built bone-crushing machine used to gather data about how bones split, sheer, crack and break under different impacts. It is used to develop body armour, but I can see an immediate forensics use as well. Like the Texas University Body Farm[1] it's one of those things it's nice to imagine Sherlock gleeing over.

Dude, that is awesome! Sherlock would totally be excited about it. He'd probably go home and try to build one in the kitchen.
