quarryquest: (keep calm)

It's not been easy, since I got dragged into this fandom, to find people who tend to see it in the same way that I do.  I don't want to just watch the show or squee over the actors (I draw the line at that!) but I do want to experience Sherlock's world (see, hear and touch it) as realistically as I can. I have thankfully, a small but choice, helpful band who understand my way of thinking (you known who you all are my dears) and the BF really should get a medal on this one. It's just involved a lot of hard work and some mega-organisation over these last two years and been quite a job and a half.

Having a few students available is always handy though, and they are always ready to help out their mad librarian especially as they are Sherlock fans too. I had my enrichment activity group in London to experience the Big City yesterday and part of the trip was to Speedy's and Barts' via Platform 9 3/4 and Forbidden Planet.  The photos I took are doctored slightly to anonymise some of the people involved (Safeguarding issues you know ...) but you can still see the great result.

We had some wonderful acting by the crowd and our Sherlock is the best of all the cosplayers I've worked with recently. Knowing exactly what she was doing, she lay down on the path with a perfect dead-eyed expression on her face. There were many gasps and much and deja-vu before she had a good laugh at our reaction.

Students are very good at being directed, while the other teacher with me played Second Unit...

Then they got ME to lie down on the ground ...

Not sure if the new perspective gave me a different view on things - but maybe it did ...

Ooooh, so nice! What a good Sherlock, and the crowd is just right. And I really love the dead-Sherlock-eye-view there at the end, it's a bit eerie!
