papernpen: (People might talk)

Hello everyone!
I have finally thrown off the shackles of lurkerdom and decided to post something. I'm a bit rusty at the whole 'online journal' caper, so apologies in advance for broken links, cut!fails and general douchery.

Title: Barely Scratched the Surface
Author: [personal profile] papernpen
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Rating: PG, to be safe.
Warnings: Very mild bad language; mild angst.
Disclaimer: Not mine. Credit goes to Arthur Conan Doyle for dreaming them up in the first place and the BBC and Moffat and co. for dressing them up and sending them out to play in the twenty-first century.
Summary: Very short little ficlet. A moment from the end of 'The Blind Banker.'

Title: How Can We Say Forever (3/6)
Author: [personal profile] queenfanfiction
Fandom: Sherlock BBC
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Character death (not the one you'd think), some prisoner torture, and dark angsty angst. Also, a lot of run-on sentences. If you wage epic wars on grammar fail, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. SOMETIMES I DO THEM ON PURPOSE.
Summary: In the three years since the mysterious Moriarty's death in the poolside explosion, John Watson has married, become a father, and become a widower, all the while still mourning the loss of his friend and flatmate Sherlock Holmes. When Sherlock, very much not dead and very much in trouble, finally finds his way home again, John is forced to decide which he will protect first: his new family, or his old love—or perhaps he can choose both.
Disclaimer: #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement
Author's Notes: Saw a prompt at [livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc_fic that asked for (really abridged version of the prompt due to spoilers) Sherlock's supposed death in TGG leading to John's marriage. That was the spark for this idea, but then it grew into a forest fire that my muse has apparently been feeding gasoline and crude oil. Not only that, but this is also meant to be the backstory for a sequel that promises to be a lot larger. A LOT. Oh god just kill me now (or don't, because then I'll never finish. If anyone has any extra hours of their day lying around, I'll take them because clearly I will never sleep again). Title taken from the lyrics of "Right Here Waiting For You," which just happens to be the song John chooses to dance to at his wedding.
Chapter Notes: GOOD NEWS EVERYONE, THERE IS AN END IN SIGHT. *blows trumpets* I'm going to hazard a guess that this might be a total of six chapters long, but let's not get our hopes up until I've written the final scene here, shall we? :D
