This is sherlockbbc, a community for fans of Sherlock, the modern BBC adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. We're a bit late getting started, but we aim to fill the Dreamwidth community's need for a place to post Sherlock news, episode commentary, and fanworks.

The last of the three 90-minute movies, "The Great Game," will air Sunday, August 8 at 9 PM GMT. We will have a watchpost up for reactions and general squealing. Until then, have fun!

Community Rules

1. Play nice. No bashing other people's opinions, ships, or work. If your kindergarten teacher would be ashamed of you, it's a bad idea.

2. All posts should be mainly about Sherlock. We're happy to have production news and promotion news about Sherlock (if you bring the news that the BBC has commissioned more episodes, that'd be fantastic), but a long and detailed post about Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch's new projects would probably best be posted in actor love communities. Likewise for posts that deal with other areas of the Sherlock Holmes mythos.

3. Use lj-cuts and tags.

4. Place spoilers and adult or triggery material behind a cut, with a warning above the cut stating what the post contains.

5. If you post fanfiction, please use a header. A sample header is included below.

I'm so sorry to bother you, but a question has arisen that I must ask.
It is in regards to this entry. Someone has complained to me that it does not fit the posting criteria for this comm whatsoever, and I would like your opinion on the matter. If it is unsuitable, I will delete it immediately, along with all my other posts. Thanks you for your time.

Your post is totally legit - we welcome fanfic of all kinds. I think the fact that you wrote in a stream-of-consciousness form and only used the name "John" once threw some people off, but it's completely acceptable.

I hated to bother you with such a thing, but I wanted to ask because I crossposted it to ALL the comms I've found here and on LJ and the person proceeded to follow me through all of them, commenting ion the lack of viability.

No problem. I'm very happy that you're contributing to the comm and (hopefully) having fun doing so. However, in future, when you post, could you please use the community tags, including your newly-minted "creator" tag? It makes the mod's jobs much easier.

Ah, my apologies, I though I had been tagging correctly.. But thank you so much for the tag add, and I will DEFINITELY have fun posting, I'm so very entrapped in this fandom just now.. I wondered (belatedly) do you also mod the LJ comm of the same name? I know so many of them are the same basic comms but for the actual host service..
