Completely belatedly responding, and obviously we're already friended/on readinglist/whatever you call it here on DW, but I just had to echo this:

The clothes alone make me fangasm.

Seriously, so true, and who knew? I mean, I went in knowing I'd likely love a remake of Sherlock Holmes no matter what, and the modern day AU thing is just such a beautiful, perfect idea. But then you dress it all up in those beautiful clothes? That coat? Sherlock's suits and plum shirt? The pretty is overwhelming.

And yes, I feel like in some ways Watson is the biggest departure, and it works so well--he feels like such a full character in his own right, and our anchor in the series. Brilliant casting, brilliant performance.

Mmm, I'm oddly enough not surprised to hear you say that, but nevertheless delighted by it. The sheer eye-candy of it all, from the filming, to London, to the men, to the wardrobes, really does make me far too happy. :)

And Watson! In a weird way, John was what clinched it all for me. ♥
