Lestrade is AWESOME in the series. Well, more so in the first one than the third one, and INEXPLICABLY ABSENT from the entire second one, but still. I'm basing my characterization of him on that first ep. I don't think he's portrayed as dim and hopeless at all, and I hope they keep that characterization of him and don't go downhill with it.
